Glady’s Walker’s Farm
Weston, VT
A low angle street side view depicts an old family-working farm, owned by its matriarch Gladys, 99 years old and blind, but still living on the property and cared for by extended family and neighbors.
The backlit scene, with morning sun streaming over Vermont’s green mountains, created a powerful composition of dark and light shapes; along with NE complimentary color scheme. The vertical trio of grain silos, universal to most farms, and the white and green shuttered farmhouse, attached to the long red barn, archetypical of N.E.’s rural agricultural history, all speak to the timeless character of a rural life.
