Sunday Races at Redd’s Pond

Marblehead, MA

A playful gestural sketch of a playful activity of model sail boating; crafts remotely controlled by the ‘sailors’ on the far edge of this well-used pond in Marblehead MA. The boats were patiently drawn into the composition as they floated by at various angles, and then painted as they came back into view. The reflected color of the trees and sky helped to contrast the white sails; as well as the moving figures at pond’s edge.
