With striking traditional dress costumes from earlier eras, these two casual Japanese youngsters were colorfully contrasted celebrants for the annual summer O-Bon Festival in Kyoto. The riot of costumes on people of all ages, hand-made hand-drawn wagons in various themes, lit paper lanterns of all sizes and graphics, and numerous displays were all part of this seasonal parade of recognition for a respected culture gone by.
